Product Description PCC stands for Precipitated Calcium Carbonate, also known as purified or synthetic calcium carbonate. It has the same chemical formula (CaCO₃) as limestone, marble, and chalk. The most common crystal form is calcite, while less common forms include aragonite and vaterite.
 
How PCC Is Made
  • Manufactured by direct carbonation of hydrated lime (milk of lime process).
  • High-purity calcium carbonate rock is mined and crushed.
  • Rock is calcined in a kiln to form lime (CaO) and CO₂.
  • CO₂ is captured for reuse.
  • Lime is hydrated with water to form calcium hydroxide.
