| Product Description |
Limestone powder is often used to raise the pH of acidic soils. When applied to
acidic soils, it reacts with soil acidity, neutralizing it and bringing the pH
closer to neutral (pH 7). This process, known as liming, helps create a more
favorable environment for plant growth.
Lime and limestone products are frequently used in the food industry for brine
manufacture, vegetable preservation, tortilla production, and as a compound to
absorb CO2 during storage of fruits and vegetables.
Powdered limestone is also used in the textile, paint, paper, rubber, glass, and
plastic industries mainly as fillers. Additionally, it is used in the steel
industry during production to remove impurities.
